Timberwolf Aviation Newsletter *changes* (126)
January 5, 2007
This one is for all our pilots...

In the next few weeks I will be cleaning up my contact database before sending out the first Timberwolf Aviation newsletter of 2007. If you want to make changes to your contact info, send an e-mail to timberwolf(dot)aviation(at)gmail(dot)com.

It is our object to send out 4 newsletters per year with information about TAC and the pilots. If you want to write something in it, let us know at the above address.

Frank Hemmelder,
PR-Manager

Happy 2007 from us (124)

From the management team at TAC, we wish all our pilots, guests and families a very healthy and flyable 2007.

Spring is upon us (well almost). This means that our better halves suddenly get these funny moods where everything needs to be clean. And that means we can't find anything back of the stuff we use when flying. Well, let's do some cleaning ourselves than... Make sure you file all your flight hours (you don't wanna miss your bonus do you?), make sure you have the latest schedule (we don't want you flying to Anchorage when you need to be in Los Angeles), clean out the cockpits (all these empty beer cans in front of the emergency escape could be dangerous) and see of you have any new screenshots (we need some new photos on the wall of the TAC office).

While you are at it, also add the following e-mail address to your list of trusted addresses. The address is: timberwolf(dot)aviation(at)gmail(dot)com. This address will be used to send you (our pilots) the TAC Newsletter. Make sure your e-mail address with us is the correct one. Keep flying and remember... getting the passengers and cargo there is our business.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

The start of a new year always seems to bring hope for better times than we have previously experienced. We are encouraged to look forward with optimism but also to carry the lessons of the past with us ...after all, there is no reason to start from scratch every year or day for that matter.

I had hoped that the past week would provide sufficient time to get much more accomplished for Timberwolf. I have posted roughly a dozen new scenery packages including a complete remake of Timberwolf's CYPR Headquarters and Operations Center. I started work on it a year ago and had finished most of it by early summer before I let work and life drag me in to nether land. It is rather intensive and has at least one problem texture (the sign on the Maintenance hangar ...I'll keep working on it). As the instruction say, you can load all of it or parts of it, five different *.blg's as I recall. Comments are welcomed. There are a couple of animations and many seasonal/time dependent objects/events, some of which are mentioned in the installation instructions, the rest of which you are free to discover. I believe I will redo FAI next, unless someone has a better suggestion.

Remy and I are continuing to work on the site. Hopefully one or two new features will be apparent in the next few days. Again, any time you have suggestions, yell...or better yet, post them in the forum.

Activity has been rather low, fewer than 50 flights reported this week. My fault, not yours. I guess it is time to get back out there and beat the bushes for active pilots...on the other hand maybe smaller is better...

Happy new year!

Get out and fly a couple of routes for Timberwolf.

Have a great day,

Bear

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

To all our pilots (114)
December 16, 2005

Contrary to all appearances, I am still alive although at times it seems only barely so. It seems that some time during the past six months I completely lost my perspective on life. Between personal and work demands I failed to allow time for relaxation and personal goals including keeping my obligation to you to insure Timberwolf Aviation maintained its position as one of the oldest and best FS virtual airlines. While that neglect is inexcusable, I apologize anyhow.

I would like to thank Remy for the many site updates he has accomplished in the past month and for the several, not so subtle kicks in the rear has given me. While I have been busy as a one-arm bandit on the DOD contract we won last year, he has been just as busy with his own job (he is working for another Seattle .com start-up...you can imagine the hours) and, to boot, he got married in September. We have more to do, but at least some progress is being made.

I must also thank all of you for hanging in there and keeping Timberwolf alive in my absence. It is your personal commitment that has kept it going and I do appreciate it. I flew last Sunday for the first time in six months. I had forgotten how relaxing FS can be...and had you seen my landing you would have noticed how much else I have forgotten.

I am committed to a very hectic schedule for the duration of this project, but I will do my best to make the time for Timberwolf as well. But, to insure that my absence for any period of time does not bring us to this point again, I am going to ask for volunteers to take on some of the site responsibilities. The rate at which these responsibilities can be transferred is dependent on the implementation of new functionality in the site. Remy has already done some, I am working on some others and hopefully we can look to finish at least the critical pieces before Christmas.

I will be out of town again until the 23rd, but will continue to get updates done during that time at least to the extent I can.

Again, thanks to all of you have have kept Timberwolf Aviation going in my absence. Let's see if we can't build her back up to the premier status she deserves.

Have a great day,

Bear

One of these days, I am going to learn to keep my mouth shut. Seems I no sooner state that we seem to have finally reached stability than the service provider drops us again. Sorry for the inconvenience, let's all knock on wood and see how long we can make it this time...Thanks Remy!

Have a good day,

Bear
