Scenery

FS9/COF Scenery Most FS2002 scenery also works with COF/FS9. Some COF/FS9 scenery also works in FS2002. FS9/COF Scenery page1, FS9/COF Scenery page2, FS9/COF Scenery page3 , FS9/COF Scenery page4, FS9/COF Scenery page5, FS9/COF Scenery page6, FS9/COF Scenery page7 and FS9/COF Scenery page8

FS2002 Scenery Because of the number of sceneries now on the server for FS2002, they have been moved to separate pages FS2K2 Scenery page1, FS2K2 Scenery page2 and FS2k2 Scenery page 3.

Terrain Mesh Holger Sandmann has given us permission to host his replacement mesh for British Columbia and SE Alaska for download by our pilots. The mesh is broken down into 8 files of variable length. Total download is large, but well worth it. In stall both the LOD7 & LOD9 files as well as the updates in bcmeshp1.zip.

Terrain Mesh Eddie Denney has given us permission to host his FS2002 38 meter replacement mesh for Alaska for download by our pilots. The mesh is broken down into 16 files of variable length. Total download is on the order of 450 Meg so be ware, this will take some time.

FS2000 Scenery Dave Erickson has kindly allowed us to provide all of his sceneries for download. His sceneries work equally well with the stock FS2000 terrain mesh and with Eddie Denny's replacement terrain mesh. A large number of the enhanced airports are destinations for Timberwolf Airways or Timberwolf Express. AKCM5-7 can be used directly with registration in the FS2000 database of ADF's, Airports, etc. AKCMafd can be used to complete automatic registration of the remaining sceneries. Flatten switches are included for all sceneries as necessary.

FS98 Scenery (Not for use with FS2000) Using the scenery listed below will ensure that all Canadian and Alaskan destinations are available for Timberwolf Airways, Timberwolf Express, and Timberwolf International. All mainland U.S. destinations are included in the default scenery. All links are for direct download from this site.

Navigation

FSNavigator 4.5 is a flight planner, moving map and autopilot compatible plug-in for FS98, 2000 and 2002. The Flight Simulator F9 key changes the FS98 face and FSNavigator is visible. The program connects to the flight simulator autopilot and you can fly to any destination of the world. The external program FSNavDBC creates the database from MSFS databases and can show all addon scenery with configuration. The download is a trial version. This is payware. By Helge Schroeder.

Utilities

ScreenShotGrabber This little utility was recently posted on all the major boards. Created by Matthias Holzer and posted here with his permission, the program, once launched will sit in the background removing "PrintScreen" captures of your flights (or anything else including you FSNav flight plans) from the clip board and immediately save them as *.bmp files. It may cause a millisecond pause, but beats the heck out of dropping out FS to a graphics program to clear the clip board. This is freeware.

Martin Wright's ScreenShotGrabber This is Martin Wright's Graphics site. Besides providing us with the tools to manage graphics in the FS environment, Martin has written several other utilities. Half way down the page, the file you are looking for is MultiGrab. This program will "grab" Prnt Scrn screen shots off the clip board and save them for you in a number of formats including jpg. Very easy to use and yields relatively small files for e-mailing.

An introduction to flying helicopters by Dan Morand. If you have tried and wish you knew more but are still intimidated by the tutorial sites, give Dan's short introductory tutorial a try.

Effects

MSTrees by Gerrish Gray Here is Gerrish Gray's third alternative replacement for the AutoGen vegetation texture sheets that provide the trees in the FS2002 scenery (see GTL_AGEN.ZIP and MSTREES.ZIP for the others). This one is a second enhancement of the new set recently released by Microsoft as part of the AutoGen SDK. The number and variety of the trees is increased and undergrowth has been added to further increase the density of the tree cover. A number of other details have been modified to improve the overall appearance. Forests now have up to 3,500 trees per sq km, compared with the scanty 600 of the original FS2002 release, and the tropics look more realistically 'tropical' with lush green bush below the palm fronds.

Conifers by Ed Truthan The enclosed files will replace the FS2002 default auto-generated conifers with new and more realistically shaped and colored trees. They also INCREASE the number of visible conifer trees by a factor of 4 to 1. They do not change the other default auto-gen vegetation at all, except for the examples noted below. All five FS2002 seasonal changes are present. The most noticeable change in the seasons is "winter", and "heavy winter", when lack of new growth and snow cover are, respectively, present.

Finish Trees by Mikko Maliniemi FS2002 Replacement tree textures to match Finnish landscape. Mikko replaced some default trees with some birch and pine silhouettes and also included some trees from Ed Truthan's conifer add-on package (conifers.zip in flightsim.com).

Trees by Gerrish Gray This is my complete FS2000 Trees Library, updated and re-issued as a single
package. It contains two main parts in four zip files:-
* THE LIBRARY (SCENERY.ZIP, FS2000.ZIP and FS2002.ZIP) - This part is needed by users of any scenery that states that it needs "Gerrish's Trees Library".
* THE SCENERY DEVELOPERS' KIT (SDK.ZIP) - An updated SDK for scenery designers with the required documentation and improved API macros.
The update is fully compatible with FS2000, CFS2 and FS2002. All existing sceneries that use the Trees Library are supported, and the revised SDK enables the creation of new sceneries for FS2002 that should have better frame rates than those created with the earlier FS2000 SDK. It replaces ALL previous archives for both the Library and the SDK.

Ocean Effects Front-End also requries Oceanfx.zip and Oceanstx.zip Ed Truthan's FS2002 Environmental Water Effects Library (FSEWEL) is a set of water textures that dramatically enhance the look and feel of water in Flight Simulator.

Wake Effects Doc and Wake Effect These two documents combined will let you produce more realistic wake effects. The second contains the effect file to be added to your ..FS2002/Effects forlder.

Smoke This file containes the special smoke effects that are used in many of the FS2002 sceneries.
